He will become the most renowned Ecuadorian painter. He was outspoken about this indigenous origins and vocal about the problems of poverty and discrimination in Latin America. Influenced by expressionism, Mexican muralist, Precolumbian and Colonial Latin American Art, Guayasamín became very famous during his life.
